Miel de Botton releases new music video ‘Immortality on the Dance Floor’

Singer-songwriter Miel de Botton has released the official music video for ‘Immortality on the Dance Floor’, a cinematic and emotionally rich visual filmed in Ibiza and inspired by Wim Wenders’ cult classic ‘Wings of Desire’.

Set against the open skies and glowing light of the Balearic island, the video draws on Ibiza’s atmosphere of freedom and reflection, a place closely tied to Miel de Botton’s own life and creative journey. The result is a film that feels both intimate and expansive, echoing themes of memory, movement and spiritual connection.

The Story of Two Angels 

At the centre of the narrative are two angels who quietly observe a pair of young dancers as love begins to unfold between them. Their story is told through subtle gestures,  the magnetic pull between bodies, moments of hesitation, and the quiet courage required to open one’s heart. Waves of energy pass from the angels to the dancers, revealing emotions before all return to everyday life, until love ultimately brings them together.

The dancers’ performances lend the film its emotional core, capturing the vulnerability and intensity of young love with grace and authenticity. Their connection fills the screen, illuminating the set and grounding the story in human truth.

Miel de Botton appears on screen alongside her longtime friend Luiz Paulo Xavier de Sa, who plays one of the angels. A trusted presence in her life and creative world, Luiz previously appeared as her father in the video for ‘Hit Song’. His return in ‘Immortality on the Dance Floor’ adds a layer of continuity and intimacy to the visual narrative.

Directed by filmmaker Morten Schjolin and produced by Andy Wright, the video forms one of the major visual releases from Loved Ones: Volume 2. Both musically and visually, ‘Immortality on the Dance Floor’ explores the unseen threads that connect us, the magic that surrounds everyday moments, and the bravery it takes to choose love.
