Miel de Botton Shines in Paris Supporting Simply Red on Their 40th Anniversary Tour

5th December 2025

Miel de Botton returned to Paris on Wednesday, 19th of November 2025, for a triumphant performance supporting Simply Red at the Accor Arena. The concert was on the penultimate night of the band’s fortieth anniversary tour, drawing more than 11,000 fans to one of Europe’s most celebrated venues. For Miel, it was not only a professional milestone but an emotional homecoming.

A Meaningful Return to Paris

Long before her music career began, Miel spent ten years living and working in Paris, where she trained, qualified, and practised as a clinical psychologist and systemic family and couples therapist.

Stepping back onto a Parisian stage after all these years carried deep personal resonance.

She shared afterwards how special the evening had been:
“I could not wait to perform in Paris again, a place I once called home. Supporting Simply Red, a band I adore, felt like such an honour. Seeing smiling faces, hearing cheers and seeing lights in the crowd from loved ones and strangers made me feel happy and fulfilled. All this made the night unforgettable and joyous.”

A Celebration Marked by New Music

The performance coincided with the release of the Pyramid Remix of Miel’s song “Paris”, a dance version that was accompanied on the big screens by a beautiful lyric video created by Samuel Clifford and Ally Rosenberg.

The evening was, of course, documented. Esteemed music photographer Danny Clifford captured striking images of Miel’s performance. At the same time, Samuel Clifford filmed the event, ensuring the concert’s atmosphere and emotion can be experienced long after the final note faded.

On the 5th of December, Miel released the official lyric animated video for ‘Forever Man’, marking the final instalment of Loved Ones – Volume 1. To bring the vision to life visually, another “loved one”, Miel worked with acclaimed Turkish filmmaker, animator, composer, musician, producer and visual artist Mertcan Mertbilek. His artistry transforms the track into a striking animated narrative, echoing the song’s romantic themes with sensitivity and imagination.

Momentum ahead of Miel’s next EP

The Paris show also helped usher in a new chapter of releases for Miel.

The Paris Pyramid remix video and Forever Man lyric music video arrived ahead of her forthcoming EP, scheduled for mid-January 2026. It follows the ongoing rollout of Loved Ones, her three-volume collection of songs celebrating family, heritage and gratitude. With Volume 1 now complete, the project has been warmly received, with strong support from major outlets including BBC London.

A Night to Remember

Her appearance at the Accor Arena marked a proud return to a city intertwined with her past, captured through powerful performances, heartfelt emotion and stunning visual documentation. Supporting Simply Red on such a significant night was not only a celebration of her artistry but also a touching reunion with the city that helped shape her journey.

For Miel de Botton, Paris once again lived up to its name: the City of Lights, and on this night, she shone brightly within it.

Keep up to date with Miel’s music journey, stay tuned for the release of Loved Ones - Volume 2, coming early next year.
