Miel de Botton releases Loved Ones: Volume 2

The next chapter in her ongoing project celebrating love, friendship and human connection.

30th January 2026

Singer-songwriter Miel de Botton releases ‘Loved Ones: Volume 2’, the next chapter in her ongoing musical project celebrating love, friendship and human connection. This volume presents three new songs, each one inspired by and created in collaboration with people close to Miel’s heart.

‘Immortality on the Dance Floor’

The opening track, ‘Immortality on the Dance Floor’, is a radiant collaboration with de Botton’s longtime friend Luiz Paulo Xavier de Sa, inspired by a spontaneous night in Ibiza. After escaping a crowded club, the pair stumbled upon a hidden room glowing with coloured lights and euphoric ’80s music, where they found themselves dancing freely and without inhibition. Long fascinated by the theme of immortality, de Botton later recognised that fleeting sense of timeless joy as the song’s emotional core: a feeling perfectly captured when producer Andy Wright asked whether she had felt “immortal on the dance floor.”

Released alongside an official music video appropriately filmed in Ibiza, the track sets the tone for ‘Loved Ones: Volume 2’: joyful, liberating and spiritually uplifting. Watch the music video now.

'Freedom Song'

‘Freedom Song’ follows with a sense of warmth and quiet hope, created in collaboration with another of de Botton’s close friends, Cornelia Opiyo. A deeply spiritual soul with an infectious joy, Cornelia shares de Botton’s love of meaningful conversation: from faith and scripture to the more challenging chapters of their pasts.

Drawing softly on experiences of difficult familial and marital dynamics, the song reflects a shared journey towards release, healing and reclaimed joy. For Cornelia, who sang in her youth and dreamt of this continuing, the collaboration became a profoundly life-affirming moment, transforming a long-held dream into reality.

'Ma Ya'

Closing the EP, ‘Ma Ya’ is a tender and deeply personal tribute to de Botton’s beloved nanny, whose presence shaped her childhood in profound and lasting ways.

A figure of immense strength and quiet heroism, she offered both protection and unwavering emotional warmth during some of de Botton’s most formative years. The song honours a love that endures well beyond time or distance… one that continues through yearly visits, weekly calls and lifelong devotion.

Out Now

Together, the three tracks form a compact but meaningful body of work, one that balances joy, reflection and spirit. ‘Loved Ones: Volume 2’ is both a continuation and an expansion of Miel de Botton’s musical world, with more visual pieces planned to follow.
