Miel Launches ‘Meine Mutter’ Official Lyric Video

Continuing the heartfelt journey of her Loved Ones – Volume 1 EP, Miel has unveiled the official lyric video for ‘Meine Mutter’, a deeply personal German-language song (with English written translation) created in collaboration with her own mother. 

This release follows the touching ‘Mon Cher Petit Papa’, offering also an intimate perspective, highlighting the powerful bond between mother and daughter.

A Song Rooted in Love and Gratitude

At its core, “Meine Mutter”  is a paean to maternal love. Written as part of Miel’s ongoing exploration of family, memory and the ties that shape us, the song arose from a shared creative process.

Miel’s mother contributed lyrical ideas alongside her daughter, resulting in a piece that is both collaborative and deeply autobiographical.

“It’s all about her, and also me,” Miel explains. “It reflects our shared desire for perfection, and how that can sometimes weigh too heavily. But most of all, it’s my way of thanking her for life. She was once told she could never have children, so being able to sing together on this track feels like an incredible gift.”

Hearing her mother’s voice within the song transforms ‘Meine Mutter’ into something far more than a simple tribute. 

It becomes a dialogue across generations, a melding of perspectives carried in harmony.

 The lyric video created by Sam Clifford accompanies this musical conversation with understated elegance, emphasising the tenderness of the track with gorgeous photos and footage.

The release of ‘Meine Mutter’ underscores the ambition of Miel’s Loved Ones series: to document and celebrate the people who have shaped her life. While ‘Mon Cher Petit Papa’ drew from memories of her late father, this new piece honours her living bond with her mother, capturing gratitude and vulnerability in equal measure.

Through Loved Ones, Miel is not only building a collection of songs but also creating a legacy of remembrance, love and healing.
