Miel de Botton Nominated as Earth Hour Ambassador for Youth

Miel was honoured to be nominated this year’s Ambassador for Earth Hour 2021, helping to use her voice in speaking up for youth, for nature.

This year Earth Hour placed a virtual spotlight on the world, encouraging everyone to stand up for youth, for nature in order to protect its beauty for future generations. Miel has supported the WWF for many years and was honoured to be nominated as an ambassador for Earth Hour 2021, working with the dedicated teams to use her platforms and those of WWF to highlight the importance of nature for a better future.

Miel’s song ‘I Was Given Nature’ was also selected to feature on the virtual spotlight video, helping to emphasise the beauty of nature, of the world, and the need to nurture and protect it. People all over the world were encouraged to share this video to spread its word, before switching off for the Earth Hour - stepping away from electricity and power and taking time to reflect.

Earth Hour With Miel

This year, Miel spent #EarthHour in the simplicity of candlelight. By turning off the lights and taking time to reflect, Miel emerged ever more appreciative of electricity and the power it brings.

As the Ambassador of Earth Hour for Youth and in putting her heart and soul into music that encourages poignantly the protection of nature, Miel encourages everyone to also share their own reflections, thoughts and feelings - bringing the world together to protect nature, to protect our world and provide a safe environment for generations to come.
