Loved Ones EP Volume 1 - Out Now

Miel de Botton launches a brand new body of work with the release of Loved Ones: Volume 1, the first of three EPs.  The first in a series of EPs that form her most intimate and heartfelt project to date. More than just a collection of songs, this volume is a celebration of the people closest to her: family, friends, collaborators, and guiding figures who have inspired, supported and shaped her journey as an artist.

Across its four tracks, Miel opens a window into her world, a place where creative ambition, emotional honesty and personal connection meet. With her long-time producer and musical partner Andy Wright by her side, the EP explores themes of memory, identity and belonging through diverse musical styles and languages.

From the infectious energy of Hit Song, a joyful ode to self-expression and inner dreams, to the tender tribute to her mother in Meine Mutter, and the heart-wrenching yet uplifting homage to her father in Mon Cher Petit Papa, the songs shine with authenticity and care. The closing track, Forever Man, weaves lyrical idealism and sweeping melodies into a vision of true love, brought to life in animation by the talented Mertcan Mertbilek. 

These songs are living proof of Miel’s belief that music is most powerful when it comes from the heart and when it brings people together.

Miel says, “The term 'loved ones' is broad, and it does include my loved ones who are professionals in the music world, like Andy Wright, my producer and my vocal coaches. But it also includes members of my family, my friends. It's basically all these wonderful people I wanted to bring into my music world – because they wanted to be in there, too! Which is great. So it puts them in the limelight. And even my father, who passed away, there's a tribute to him. So it's really quite a broad term. But the main thing is, I love and adore them!”

Hit Song  (Official Music Video) – Out Now

The first official single from Loved Ones: Volume 1, Hit Song is an exuberant, glittering anthem that blends disco beats with personal reflection, and it now comes to life in a vibrant new music video.

Written alongside Andy Wright and Sam Swallow, Hit Song explores the universal desire to be seen, heard and – yes – loved. From the very first line, “I wanna write a hit song / Truth is I want to be loved,” Miel opens up with candid vulnerability, wrapped in an irresistible dancefloor rhythm. It’s playful, uplifting, and filled with the kind of raw honesty that defines her artistic voice.

“I wasn’t sure if I should include it at first,” Miel admits. “But then I realised: here, the loved one is me,” she says with a smile. “What do I dream of? Having a hit song! So I think it slots right in.”

The official video brings the song’s message to life through the lens of Miel’s real-world relationships. Featuring members of her own inner circle, including her dearest friends’ daughters, and her lifelong friend Luiz Paolo, the video captures the joy, imagination and warmth that runs throughout the EP. With its light-hearted storytelling and vibrant aesthetic, it celebrates the spirit of connection and creative play that defines ‘Loved Ones’ as a whole.

Shot with her long-standing video collaborators, the visual captures the warmth, humour and sparkle of the music, as well as Miel’s vibrant presence.
