Miel to Perform at The Savoy
Miel is delighted to announce her performance at the British Red Cross Pearls for LIFE auction and Gala, on July 2nd 2018.
Miel will be performing at this very special event in celebration of 100 years since the launch of the first British Red Cross Pearl Appeal.
The Pearl Appeal began in 1918 during the First World War when Lady Northcliffe launched a campaign to raise money for the British Red Cross, who had worked tirelessly during the War to aid those who were sick or injured. Lady Northcliffe utilised her husband's newspaper business to request that women donate a single pearl which would be used to create a necklace that was to be sold at auction.
The campaign was hugely successful with the donation of thousands of pearls from women all over the world in memory of lives lost, and lives changed in the First World War. Following the resounding success of the campaign, donated pearls were made into 30 necklaces and auctioned to raise almost £100,000 for the British Red Cross.
2018 marks the centenary of the Pearls For LIFE appeal. The Pearls for LIFE auction and Gala will celebrate the Birthday of HM The Queen, and the widespread generosity expressed in the 1918 Pearl Appeal. The auction and gala dinner will include unusual items of donated jewellery, selected by Christie’s.
Miel is delighted to be supporting this wonderful cause, and is looking forward to performing exclusive new material from her unreleased album! This event will be a unique opportunity to preview music Miel has been writing since the launch of her debut album, Magnetic, released in 2015, whilst supporting an important charity whose humanitarian work continues to this day.
