On 12 November, Miel will join music and environmental peers in London to present an evening of music and inspiration to launch her new EP, ‘I Was Given Nature’.
The international songstress, who released her first album ‘Magnetic’ in 2015 to critical acclaim, is now preparing to release her highly anticipated second album, ‘Surrender to the Feeling’.
Miel is known for combining her passion for conservation with her melodic talents to galvanise discussion at this critical time for the planet and she is thrilled that The World Wildlife Fund has featured her new song, ‘I Was Given Nature’, in the video supporting their #Connect2Earth campaign, which hopes to engage with millions around the world to shine a light on why nature matters and the importance of biodiversity.
Following on from the successful performance of ‘I Was Given Nature’, during the WWF’s Duke of Edinburgh Conservation Award on 2 October, Miel will once again be joining forces with them this November for the launch of her new EP.
Regarding her EP and relationship with the WWF, Miel says, “Being able to use my platform as an artist to bring awareness to ecological issues during this critical time is a huge honour and it has become a central theme to my work. I am hugely excited for the release of this EP and hope that my considered partnership with the WWF will inspire others as it has inspired my developing music portfolio.”
Follow Miel from EP to album
The music industry and Miel fans, who are familiar with her debut album ‘Magnetic’, don’t have long to wait until ‘Surrender to the Feeling’, which promises an expansion of Miel’s inclusive sound. The album is due for release in early 2019.
Earlier in the year, Miel documented her time at Abbey Road studios as ‘Surrender to the Feeling’ began fruition. She sought collaboration with her long-time producer, Andy Wright, of Simply Red, Eurythmics, Jeff Beck and Simple Minds fame, but she also collaborated with a few different producers; Marc JB, Sam Swallow, James Sanger and Morten Schjolin. Andy Wright is the album’s Executive Producer.
The new album will feature vibrant string section backing tracks and innovative instrumental arrangements and is complemented by the talents of her established band members Sam Swallow, Daniel Weston, Mark Jaimes and Gareth Huw Davies.
